Rishikesh 1

Rishikesh 1

As Part of my preparation to teach Bali 200 hour yoga teacher training, East Bali, January 2017, I have headed to India to complete my 300 hour training. room-viewThis is the view from my room, to the North and on the Western side of the Ganges in the Laksmanjula district. The journey here from Bali was 2 flights, via KL, and straight into a taxi to travel through the night and arrive at 4 in the morning. Actually the best time to travel by road as there are only trucks and buses moving around. Bali to Rishikesh Ashram non stop in 16 hours… surreal to say the least.

Sunda-tali

FIRST  TRUCK STOP, TALI  PLATE, CHAI AND DOG ASSIST >>>> SUNDA MY TAXI DRIVER LOVES DOGS ….. WHICH ARE SURPRISINGLY LIKE BALI DOGS. MAYBE THE HINDUS INTRODUCED THEM!!

A day to recover and then starting the 42 day YTT 300 hour course. It appears that there are only 3 people on the course!! Amazingly spacious. And a beautiful room. Feeling very fortunate. As the course is not compressed into a month like many 300 hour courses there is plenty of space in each day to digest the teachings. Glad that I have the time to do a longer course.

Hatha yoga class

A balanced blend of warm ups and stretches with emphasis on breath and awareness. Many new nuances to postures, and an interesting change from my usual Vinyasa format. Certainly helped clear the travel fatigue. Was feeling so much better by breakfast, which was simple, sattvic and nourishing, delivered with smiles, and head wiggles. Got to love the Indian thing.

First A and P class gave a broad approach to the Yoga approach to the physical systems, emphasisng the primary importance of AWARENESS, to move past the physical to the energetic. Using awareness not to dissect, but to feel and connect/bind with what is unconscious… right down to the individual cell.

Loving that so far.

AND it is not raining cows and dogs like it should be in August … well not for today.

Love to all

Steve
